Serious fitness - seriously bad jokes

my mentality

You’ve got to start where you are. It doesn’t matter how far you think you are from your goals—we begin with where you’re at and work toward them together. My space is inclusive and body-positive. All I ask is that you show up as you are and give it your best effort. As such, There are three things that make Punchline Personal Training stand out:

Honesty

I’m not going to sell you on some “secret” to achieving your goals, because there isn’t one. The truth is, success comes from simply showing up. Almost any method can work if done right. My role isn’t to sell you the “perfect” approach but to find the one that works for you—and make sure it delivers. No gimmicks. And if you’re not making progress because the effort isn’t there, I’ll be upfront about that too.

Humour

I take your goals seriously—just not myself. After all, it’s only training at the end of the day!

Transparency

I only do things I can explain. This goes for everything, from the number of reps to recommendations about gym equipment. If I can’t provide a clear reasoning for something, we won’t do it. Feel free to ask any questions you have about your training process. And if I don’t know the answer, you’ll get an honest “I don’t know.”

About me

I’m Luis, in case you didn’t know. I’ve been working full-time as a personal trainer for about four years now, at gyms like Holmes Place, John Harris, and Getfit-Club. After spending some time in these commercial gyms, I quickly realized I couldn’t provide the quality service you deserve while being tied down by corporate nonsense. That’s why I’m here now!

Personal Trainer

In 2020, I became a Certified Personal Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the International Sports Science Association. I also earned my state-licensed Fitness Instructor certificate from the Bundessport Akademie Österreich (BSPA), along with certifications in plyometrics coaching (Plusplyos) and clean sports (NADA). In 2021, I finished my bachelor's in Theatre, Film, and Media Studies at the University of Vienna, and I’m currently pursuing a second bachelor's in Exercise Science at FH Wiener Neustadt. I’m also a certified peer-to-peer mediator and have a background in dance education, both in Vienna and New York.

Before

Before I fully transitioned into personal training, I spent years as a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer, starting at the age of 16 and continuing until I was 24. During that time, I performed and coached dancers of all levels—beginners to pros—on both national and international stages. Some of my favorite experiences include choreographing for Tony Robbins, dancing at the Life Ball in Vienna, and leading the Urban Widgets Dance Company with my friend Alek.

At some point, though, I realized I wanted to do something more tangible. What I love most about personal training is seeing the real, visible impact it has on people’s lives. To me, helping someone improve their life is far more rewarding than being on TV.

Oh, and these days, I also train in MMA, compete in No-Gi grappling, and take Ritalin for my ADHD

What to expect

Personal Training

It’s your first time:

If it’s your first time, all you need to do is show up at the gym. I’ll be waiting for you at reception to guide you through everything. We’ll get you a locker key so you can change and leave your things safely. Afterward, we’ll meet again at reception to chat about your goals and abilities.

I’ll guide you through a short warm-up, followed by some exercises tailored to your specific goals. We’ll wrap up the session by talking about your experience and discussing whether personal training or coaching would be the right fit to help you achieve your goals. Afterward, you can shower, change, and go about your day.

Following your first session, you’ll receive a personalized training program and can start training on your own or with me right away. The first session is designed to be manageable, so it won’t be too exhausting, and we’ll keep any soreness to a minimum. My goal is to ensure you feel accomplished afterward. If you have any questions, just reach out to me!

It’s not your first time:

For recurring clients, you’ll check into the gym on your own and meet me at reception. You can also handle your warm-up independently before we train together. Personal training sessions will focus on learning and perfecting exercise techniques, testing strength and endurance, adjusting intensity and volume, and troubleshooting any issues. We’ll also chat about nutrition, recovery, and any other questions you might have. Plus, I’ll show you how to use equipment, teach gym etiquette, and—fair warning—throw in a few bad jokes (apologies in advance!).

Coaching

What’s included:

  • Training plans and weekly adaptation

  • Video feedback on technique

  • Availability for questions via call or through the app’s messenger feature

  • If you want to focus on nutrition and recovery, lifestyle guidelines and coaching tools are also available (just contact me for more details)

How it works

I use an app called TrainHeroic to plan your training sessions, including details like load, reps, etc. You’ll receive your workouts through the app. All you have to do is show up at the gym and follow the plan laid out for you. I take the guesswork out, so you can focus on your training, and I make sure it works for you.

S & C for competitive Athletes

Coaching services also include profesional Strength and Conditioning for athletes on all levels. This includes periodization, recovery management, and in-person strength and conditioning sessions. Training programs and periodization are handled via TrainHeroic. Athletic coaching and training programs are included in the “Coaching” service, while “Personal Training” covers specific in-person strength and conditioning sessions, including field performance diagnostics.

Full programs for the off-season, fight camps, or tailored services for teams are available upon request (just contact me!).
